Unsurprisingly, the bag sold out in 2022, with fans calling multiple stores to check availability, only to be disappointed when they were told there was no inventory.

Recently, Jennie’s impact on the popularity of the COS bag was again evident when the brand held its first pop-up event in Seoul, exclusively selling the popular “cloud bag,” which has also become known as the “Jennie bag.”
Those who attended the pop-up reported that people waited for over an hour for a chance to enter the event.

Korean media referenced the “Jennie effect” when reporting on the pop-up, crediting her influence on the handbag’s popularity and limited inventory.

The “Quilted Bag,” also known as the cloud bag, first began trending for its versatility. Then, when BLACKPINK’s Jennie shared a picture of hers on Instagram, its popularity soared. With Jennie using hers at the airport, overseas, and in her everyday life, the COS bag soon became dubbed the “Jennie Bag.” The bag has since become difficult to purchase. And it has been surfacing on different sales platforms that feature only limited-edition, high-end items.
