He was always in the Top 3!
In a recent episode of K Survival Story, DAY6‘s Young K and TWICE‘s Nayeon had a fun and casual chat while grilling meat. Adding to the fun, Nayeon spilled the beans on who consistently reigned as a top trainee in JYP Entertainment.
The topic was brought up while the two were grilling meat, and Young K admitted that he found it too much of a hassle. Nayeon was surprised, noting that she always saw him as someone diligent, especially when it came to studying.
- Young K: I even think grilling meat like this is too much of a hassle.
- Nayeon: But are you really that lazy? I had no idea because you’re good at studying diligently.
Their conversation quickly turned into a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about their trainee days. Young K praised Nayeon’s dedication to her training, from dancing and singing to language and acting lessons.
- Young K: But that’s the same for you. I mean the tasks that are given…
- Nayeon: We were model students.
- Young K: Nayeon was really passionate. Whether it’s dancing, singing, language lessons, acting lessons, you always practice everything hard.
Nayeon laughed it off, saying she was just average, while it was Young K who was always in the top ranks. He was one of the top trainees in the company! She remembered how he got to study abroad, a special privilege for the top rankers.
Although I tried my best, my skill was in the mid level, but you were always the top level! It was attached to the wall. Whenever there were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranks, he was always in the Top 3, and despite being a trainee, the company sent him to study abroad, which was a privilege given only to the 1st and 2nd places.

To that, Young K quipped, “I worked hard because I wanted to the New York training.” Well known for his many talents, it’s no surprise he was a top trainee!
