LE SSERAFIM‘s Sakura is one of the most senior idols in the industry. She started her career as a member of HKT48 in her home country, Japan, at just 13-years old.
She also participated in singles of AKB48 as one of the most popular girls in the company. After ranking second place on Produce 48 in 2018, she became a member of project group IZ*ONE before finally re-debuting in LE SSERAFIM.
Her Instagram account, which she has had since she was a J-Pop idol, has gone through significant changes through the years.
Her first post which dates all the way back to September 2016 featured her leaning back on a wall with the logo of Asian cosmetics company 3CE. She wore a casual set of denim, exuding a girl-next-door aura.
In contrast, her latest post as of writing was on October 2. It was an advertisement promoting the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show, and unlike the first picture, she now exudes a cool and untouchable aura which was emphasized by her luxury outfit.
This drastic change was seen all throughout her account. Check it out below!
1. Then
First up, Sakura used to have a very girly and youthful aesthetic. Especially in 2017, her photos were the definition of refreshing thanks to the formerly popular Snow application which gave her feed an unmistakably bright tone.
She often posed in outdoor settings wearing bright and feminine clothing.
She embodied the sweet and quirky side of the Japanese street style with her lace attire, bow accessories, and the like.
Even Sakura herself described her style as “cute,” using this word as one of the hashtags in her captions.
2. Now
On the flipside, her Instagram feed now reflects her growth in age and maturity. Long gone are the obviously filtered posts. She now has more selfies, backstage footage, and candid street shots.
Her color palleted has changed from predominantly pastel pink and blue to black and white.
The closest she gets to her old style is when she posts smiling photos that still manage to show off her chic side.
Unsurprisingly, her pictures match the cool, girl crush concept of LE SSERAFIM.
Case in point: her closet of casual attire is now filled with oversized jackets and comfy shirts.
In contrast, she used to wear more shorts and dresses on a day out.
From then until now, Sakura has always had praise-worthy pictures!
