SEVENTEEN’s The8 was recently announced as the latest ambassador for KOLON Sports.
The news comes as a surprise to many as the brand previously only used Korean ambassadors.
Some of its past ambassadors include actor Ahn Hyo Seop…
…and more recently, ENHYPEN.
The brand has previously only utlilized actors as models, but has been hiring fresher faces and idols recently in an attempt to rebrand themselves as a more modern one. The brand is also expanding its marketing efforts in China, hence the selection of The8 is a smart one.
The8 allegedly shot the photos on the mountains of Sichuan in the chilly weather.
The photographer for Minghao’s KOLON photoshoot shared some insights. They did the shoot on-site in the snowy mountains of Sichuan, spending several days in the high altitudes. Netizens feel that he is also the perfect fit for the job as he enjoys sports and the outdoors.

Previously, Song Joong Ki’s endorsement for the brand in China caused sales to spike. He saw great popularity there due to the viral K-Drama, Descendants Of The Sun.
