“Mr. Do has given his promise to be a law-abiding citizen, especially as a public figure, going forward.”
According to a K-Netizen, EXO‘s D.O. was recently fined for indoor smoking.
Last month, D.O. caught backlash from Korean netizens after a clip that allegedly showed the idol smoking went viral online. As EXO member Baekhyun practiced in the forefront of a video inside the dressing room of a music show, D.O. was allegedly spotted exhaling smoke out of his nose.

A month later, a K-Netizen claims to have reported the idol for indoor smoking, resulting in him receiving a fine. On September 5, an anonymous forum post with the caption“I reported Do Kyungsoo (EXO’s D.O.) for smoking indoors back in August.” was shared.
In the post, the OP included a screenshot of a statement from the Mapo-gu Public Health Center. In the report, the health center said that due to the National Health Promotion Act, D.O. was fined after being unable to verify that the e-cigarette used indoors was nicotine-free.
“How We Resolved The Issue
Hello, thank you for your interest in improving the overall well-being of your province. We appreciate your report regarding the indoor smoking issue at the address, 267 Sungam-ro (MBC Headquarters), and we’ve taken the following actions to resolve the issue. As per the National Health Promotion Act (9-4-16), smoking is prohibited in all commercial, factory, and mixed-use facilities over 1,000 square meters in size. We identified Mr. Do [Censored Name] to have violated the act by smoking inside the broadcast station building. Mr. Do and his management label explained to us that he was using an e-cigarette without nicotine. However, they were unable to verify that the product in use was indeed nicotine-free. Therefore, Mr. Do was fined appropriately. In addition, we’d like to let you know that Mr. Do has given his promise to be a law-abiding citizen, especially as a public figure, going forward.
Your officers at the Mapo-gu Public Health Center will continue to work hard to educate the residents about the dangers of cigarettes and promote a non-smoking culture in the province.
