Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and aespa’s Karina don’t just share a subunit together — they also sometimes share styles too. In fact, the GOT the Beat stars recently both wore the same top. But, while their t-shirts were the same, they gave off completely different vibes in each outfit.
The top in question is Diesel’s popular ‘T-Angie’ t-shirt in black. Recently, Diesel’s logo cutout pieces have been all the rage among idols, and this top is no exception. With short sleeves and a slim fit, this black t-shirt is on the affordable end for idol clothing at just $120 USD.
Karina was seen wearing the top this week when she arrived in Bangkok for aespa’s Sound Check Festival appearance.
Making the most of Thailand’s sunny weather, Karina showed off skin in her version of the look. She paired the top with a black cargo mini skirt from CITYBREEZE and matching Chelsea calf boots from Charles & Keith. Completing the all-black look was a padded mini bag from Prada, worth around $2,800 USD.
In her take on the top, Karina gave off youthful summer vibes. While all-black outfits can often have a heavy energy, Karina’s outfit (in combination with her bright personality) felt totally refreshing.
Taeyeon, meanwhile, wore the same top last month for an episode of tvN’s Amazing Saturday.
Upping the Diesel look, Taeyeon also wore the brand’s black satin ‘Stella’ pants, which feature a standout belt with an external pocket. Similarly to Karina, Taeyeon also wore boots. Hers, however, were $1,450 USD Sergio Rossi combat boots.
Dubbing the outfit a Kill Bill-style concept, Taeyeon showed off her look on Instagram with a sword in tow. In contrast to Karina’s light feel, Taeyeon perfectly embodied the dark assassin vibes she was aiming for — especially with the outfit’s looser fit and sharp-cut angles.
