On July 29, 2024, accusations made towards SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu visiting a club went viral. With over 2.4 million views in a short few hours, a netizen exposed a series of text messages exchanged with a club MD. An MD is someone who deals with table bookings and VIPs.
The MD sent a video of Mingyu allegedly at his table.
- OP: “He’s just f*cking looking at his phone a lot LOL.”
- OP: “It’s been a long time since he has his fringe down.”
- MD: “Ah, he purposely booked a table where people f*cking don’t pass by. It’s a table where I have no clue why people spend money on.”
- OP: “From the picture, it totally seems like a corner table LOL.”
- OP: “Agreed.”
- MD: “What’s more is that it was around [time] then, and we don’t normally put the curtains down then. We only put the curtains down around closing time. We put them down because they asked.”
- OP: “That’s so people don’t know they came. What alcohol did he drink? Did he drink a lot?”
- MD: “F*cking cheap stuff. LOL.”
- MD: “Oh right, he earns so much but he only spend a paltry [redacted]. He could’ve spent more.”
- OP: “FR? LOL, what did he do there? Bet he didn’t go just to listen to the music.”
- MD: “He just f*cking hung out with girls and drank a lot with them, then it all ended at 4am.”
- OP: “Did he choose the girls?”
- MD: “Of course. They asked for girls to be brought to their table, and then they chose to let them stay or go.”
- OP: “What is his taste like?”

The same MD also gave tip-offs that he allegedly visited on June 5, 2024, as well, the day before a public holiday in South Korea.
