With BABYMONSTER’s Member Line-Up Officialized, Fans Take A Look Back At BLACKPINK Jennie’s Trainee Days

“They don’t make trainees like her anymore.”

After a long wait, the final line-up of YG Entertainment‘s new girl group, BABYMONSTER, has finally been announced. While it was teased that only five of the seven trainees would end up debuting with the group, not everyone was surprised to learn that all seven trainees would actually become members of the K-Pop group.

With all this talk about the newest female trainees and soon-to-be idols under YG Entertainment, some fans have been reminiscing about the days that BLACKPINK‘s members were trainees, specifically Jennie.

Long before she debuted as a member of BLACKPINK, Jennie already developed a large fandom as a “legendary” trainee at the label. With performances and music video appearances with BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon and impressive vocals even back then, fans anticipated that she would become just as successful and popular that she turned out to be.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly seven years since Jennie debuted as a K-Pop idol, and thirteen years ago that she first became a trainee at YG Entertainment in 2010 at just 14!

Some people have complained that the length between BABYMONSTER’s trainees being revealed and their eventual (and still unannounced) debut is too long, but others have reminded us that Jennie’s debut was long anticipated before it actually happened too.

And given what she has provided to the K-Pop industry, it was definitely worth the wait!

Fans are reminiscing about Jennie’s trainee days on a public forum online, where there are many comments praising her talents and natural charisma back then and now.

It will be interesting to see what kind of paths the BABYMONSTER members pave for themselves in their upcoming K-Pop careers, too!
