They reunited after over 7 years.
IVE recently held their Seoul encore concert on August 11, 2024. As many of their South Korean fans are in elementary or middle school, concert-goers ended up exchanging many small gifts with these young fans. A netizen shared their story about how they went to a Super Junior concert back in the day. They ended up making friends with another fan that was more than twice their age.

I went to Super Junior’s concert in my first year of middle school the unnie next to me who as 34 years old gave me this many snacks, asking how I even knew the group.

Their story soon went viral with over 2.9 million views. This prompted the unnie to see the post and contact them for the first time in awhile. They had grown estranged after they both left the fandom. The unnie sent a touching DM to OP (original poster).

[redacted name], this is unnie! I saw your tweet and was so pleasantly surprised! I’m still being held hostage by SM Entertainment haha. I’ve become a fan of Wonbin now, and am an auntie-BRIIZE. I saw your account, seems like you like SEOULLITE and Jaejoong. Looks like our taste is still the same LOL. Anyway, it’s so nice to see you again.
— Unnie
The OP (@SMbbasunee) showed their gratitude by sending an expensive gift of Chanel lip balm to the unnie.
Unnie, I was so grateful that you used to buy me meals and take care of me. I’m an adult now too. This is making me cry.
— SMbbasunee
Since the OP was 13 years old back then, and is an adult now, at least 7 years would have passed since the fateful first meeting! OP also explained that the unnie liked Super Junior’s Heechul, followed by SHINee‘s Taemin, Jaejoong, NCT‘s Jungwoo, and RIIZE‘s Wonbin. On the other hand, OP was a fan of Taemin, Jaejoong, Sungchan, and Wonbin! K-Pop truly does bring people together.
