TWICE’s Momo Accidentally Makes A NSFW Comment About Cucumbers That Leaves Fans Screaming

It went from cute to NSFW in one click.

We all know TWICE‘s Sana is talented and beautiful. A JYP Entertainment employee even named Sana the most beautiful JYP artist he had met in the office.

And we completely understand why—look at her Instagram selfies!

Recently, on June 16, Sana uploaded stunning selfies of her with short bangs and wearing headphones. She appeared to be doing a natural face mask with cucumbers.

Sana’s skin and selfie were flawless, but fellow TWICE member Momo‘s response to the post was… flawed. Momo showed her love and support for Sana on the post by writing a cute comment.

Your cheeks must smell like cucumbers…????????

— Momo

Momo’s comment was a simple and normal; however, it was only normal to people who can read and understand Korean—for non-Korean speakers, it had a completely different meaning.

When fans clicked on the “See translation” button at the bottom of Momo’s comment, it sabotaged the translation…

In one click, “your cheeks must smell like cucumbers” turned into “I can smell cucumber in my balls…

Fans responded to Momo’s unintentional NSFW comment by replying to her comment with screams and laughter. Most of the comments were in all caps.

Unintentionally, TWICE member Chaeyoung‘s comment added flame to the fire by appearing right below Momo’s.

The responses on Twitter were hilarious, too.

The reason why the translation confused “cheeks” with “balls” is because the Korean word for cheeks (“볼”) is the same as the loanword for the English word “ball.” A loanword is a word adopted from a foreign language with little or no modification.

We don’t know if Momo knows about her comment translation, but we do know that Momo and Sana’s friendship is precious!
