Although Bang Chan has always been muscular, as his stage outfits have gotten bolder over the years, fans have been even more admiring of his physique.

Recently Stray Kids went to Japan to promote their Japanese pre-release “THE SOUND” for the first time on TV Asahi’s Music Station.

Their performance impressed fans who couldn’t get enough of the pre-release song and insane performance.

Stray Kids also talked to the MCs of the show, where Bang Chan opened up about his workout routine. According to Bang Chan, he tries to do 100 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats every day.

Fans were understandably stunned by the physically demanding workout.

And some fans noticed a similarity to the workout routine depicted in the manga and anime series One Punch Man.

In One Punch Man, the main character Saitama becomes a superhero who can defeat any opponent with one punch.

One Punch Man Saitama’s routine

To become a superhero, Saitama trained by doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a ten-kilometer run daily. So some Stray Kids fans are joking that the routine must have inspired Bang Chan.

Still, in the past, trainers have suggested that the One Punch Man workout routine actually is only effective if you’re taking sufficient time to rest and changing your routine to continue your progress. A trainer even suggested that the ten-kilometer run, which is the part of the routine Bang Chan doesn’t do, has little benefit. Instead, the trainer suggested taking a bike ride or something similar that has less impact than running.

Within the lore of the show, following this routine every day eventually enables Saitama to surpass all of his human limitations, and defeat any enemy with a single punch. But in real life, many of the people who attempt to do the workout every single day for prolonged periods of time report that it’s not the most effective way to build strength or muscle, as it doesn’t allow for sufficient recovery time between sessions, and the bodyweight nature of the exercises means there is no progression or added resistance, meaning plateaus are inevitable.

Of course, as a K-Pop idol, Bang Chan’s regular routine involves intense dance practices and performances that would only supplement his workout routine, creating the balance and progression needed.

While fans are jokingly hoping that Bang Chan doesn’t go bald like Saitama, they certainly appreciate seeing just how muscular the idol has gotten.
